A major milestone was the development of the SEE++ software system as a new type of teaching and learning tool that supports clear thinking, particularly in the case of complex functional disorders. In addition to a biomechanical model of the human eye, the software system offers a three-dimensional virtual simulation of the patient in combination with a realistic representation of muscle shape and movement. This enables an interactive simulation of malpositions and eye muscle operations.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continuous further development of the software<\/h2>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>In order to improve the use of the software in teaching and training, the 3D representation of the virtual patients has been continuously enhanced over the development period. The software now also includes the integration of the brain and a dynamic representation of individual parts of it. The numerous interaction options for the individual parts of the brain as well as the possibility of drawing different classifications on the brain surface and displaying medical information about them contribute significantly to a better understanding of the connections between the eye and the brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Amblyopia diagnosis and therapy with AmblyoCare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another flagship of the research project is &#8220;AmblyoCare&#8221;. This application offers standardized and variable tests for the classic amblyopia treatment methods on the computer in order to better capture additional characteristics of the visual process and thus make visual acuity more usable for everyday life. The flexibility of the software makes day-to-day work with patients much easier. The practical application of AmblyoCare in the clinic is in amblyopia diagnosis and therapy as well as in early visual support, where AmblyoCare is increasingly supplementing or even replacing conventional aids such as the Nystmus drum or picture cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RISC Software GmbH would especially like to thank Prof. Dr. Priglinger for his tireless commitment to the SEE-KID \/ CEVD project.
